A Word from Founder and CEO Patty Cassidy:
My Search for Excellence in Autism/ID Treatment
My career and personal background give me unique perspective as CEO of Round Hill Services Corporation. In the early 1990s, one of my three toddler girls was diagnosed with Autism. While being a dedicated parent to my special-needs child and her sisters, I also managed labor relations and human resources for the Lancaster branch of a Fortune 500 company. The search for a positive path for my special-needs child gave me an education in human services, and my executive job taught me how to get the best from a team of professionals. I started Round Hill Services to meet my family’s needs, and now we are sharing our expertise and care with a select group of participants.
Early Days: Trial and Error
When my daughter was diagnosed, little was known about Autism. In an effort to effectively advocate for her, I learned all I could about support systems and therapies and discovered Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). ABA emerged as the most effective form of treatment for my daughter’s severe behaviors, which if left unaddressed would limit her choices in adult life. We had zeroed in on the right method, but her case presented multiple challenges.
A Breakthrough with Board-Certified Behavior Analysts
In 2005, I worked with a team of Board-Certified Behavior Analysts whose evidence-based approach to treatment showed strong potential. This team of professionals brought effective ABA programming, understanding, and caring to my daughter and to my family. Utilizing ABA in school, home, and the community, they began to achieve breakthrough outcomes. Ten years later, my daughter maintains competitive employment and is a happy, social individual – and her BCBAs are on the founding Round Hill Services team with me.
Round Hill Today: Making Excellence in ABA Available to All
When the time came to transition my daughter from child to adult services, I recognized that available adult programming resources would not keep pace with our goals for her growth into adulthood. In order to maintain her steady progress with the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst team we had in place, I started Round Hill Services. After meeting the rigorous state qualification process in September 2017, Round Hill Services opened its doors. Our mission is to offer the same standard of excellent, personalized support services to a select group of participants. We are inspired to bring innovation and hope to individuals in need. I envision regional growth for Round Hill Services, and happier, healthier outcomes for many people whose lives we will touch in the future.
